We’re recruiting for the 2017 season.

Full Time or Part Time General Assistant required flexible hours to suit.

Outgoing, friendly and enthusiastic person required working in housekeeping, restaurant, front of house and other general duties.
£8.50 Per hour

This is a temporary live out post only with the potential to be permanent.

We have a busy full year ahead and we’re confident that you will enjoy working with our close family team and other co-workers.

Thorney How Bar

Seasonal General Assistant
Hours per week: 40 FT or P/T hours to suit.

Experience not essential, but great if you have it. Duties include housekeeping, bar work and service, front of house and probably some gardening. Must be computer literate, hardworking and good with cats and other animals.

General Assistant Job Description 2017

Thorney How
A busy rural accommodation provider with bar and catering facilities in South Lakeland with up to 42 beds in 11 rooms. We offer guest house B&B and bunkhouse type accommodation, food and drink for events, parties, celebrations as well as for individual travellers, walkers and groups. We need an enthusiastic energetic team players with the ability to perform consistently well with a cheerful approach. All staff may at some time be required to undertake general duties including front of house, service, cleaning, some basic catering and bar work.

Situated off the beaten track directly on the Coast to Coast pathway and under Helm Crag in Grasmere. Thorney How is a listed building sitting in 2.25 acres of grounds, so you may even find yourself working in the garden. Must like cats, and of course people, we also have hens, ducks and sheep! It is useful to have an interest in the outdoors and to have a good sense of humour.

This position may be extended as a permanent post.
