92% Tomatometer – Review on Rotten Tomatoes

‘With a script that never forgets its heroes’ humanity and no shortage of superpowered set pieces, The Avengers lives up to its hype — and raises the bar for Marvel at the movies.’

Review by Peter Bradshaw – The Guardian, Thursday 3 May 2012
‘Joss Whedon’s ensemble comic-book outing has a sparkling script and a tremendous villain…….
It’s an enjoyably absurd and absurdly enjoyable extravaganza, both delirious and surrealist.’

Snow White and the Huntsman Film Poster

You know the story…..

Snow White, imprisoned daughter of the late king, escapes just as the Magic Mirror declares her the source of the Evil Queen’s immortality. The Queen sends her men, led by a local huntsman, to bring her back. But upon her capture, the huntsman finds he’s being played and turns against the Queen’s men, saving Snow White in the process. Meanwhile, Snow’s childhood friend, William, learns that she is alive and sets off to save her.

49% Tomatometer – Review on Rotten Tomatoes

While it offers an appropriately dark take on the fairy tale that inspired it, Snow White and the Huntsman is undone by uneven acting, problematic pacing, and a confused script.

At the end of this month, Emma Nuttall, our General Assistant will be taking the weekend off from checking in customers, to go check in at a hostel in Fort William for the night, before climbing to the peak of Ben Nevis, the tallest mountain in Britain.

Lease of Life aims to provide access to sport for any child suffering or recovering from cancer and has pledged all funds raised by their team to the Cyclists Fighting Cancer Charity, whose purpose it is to provide bikes, adapted tricycles and equipment to children and young people whose lives have been affected by cancer.

As many of our customers will understand, bikes provide a fun and practical way to regain lost strength, fitness and confidence.

With three weeks to get in shape, Emma will be sacrificing the comfort of staying inside on the couch next to the fire to do a number of mountain walks and runs around the Lake District.

So far this week, since starting her training, she has already encountered typical terrible weather, endured blisters and to top it off has been defecated on by one of the local farmer’s cows.

Thorney How will be the first to make a donation of £10.00 and is proud to be supporting Emma and the Lease for Life/Cyclists against Cancer campaign.

If you would like to help her reach her target of £300.00 please visit the Group Just Giving Page here:

Remember to detail that it is Emma you are sponsoring as this is a group page.

We appreciate your tie and help in supporting this worthy cause.

The Best Exotic Marigold Hotel Film Poster

A group of British retirees decide to “outsource” their retirement to less expensive and seemingly exotic India. Though the new environment is less luxurious than imagined, they are forever transformed by their shared experiences, discovering that life and love can begin again when you let go of the past.

87% Tomatometer – Review on Rotten Tomatoes

The Best Exotic Marigold Hotel isn’t groundbreaking storytelling, but it’s a sweet story about the senior set featuring a top-notch cast of veteran actors.

Before Charles Xavier and Erik Lensherr took the names Professor X and Magneto, they were two young men discovering their powers for the first time. Before they were archenemies, they were closest of friends, working together, with other Mutants (some familiar, some new), to stop the greatest threat the world has ever known. In the process, a rift between them opened, which began the eternal war between Magneto’s Brotherhood and Professor X’s X-MEN.
