A Grasmere guest house: our welcoming B&B accommodation

Guests

One of the reasons people love coming to stay at our B&B guest house in Grasmere is the warm welcome they’re guaranteed to receive at Thorney How. Of course, you’ll enjoy a comfortable bed and a fantastic night’s sleep, but there’s so much more on offer which makes us a great choice if you’re looking for a bed and breakfast break in the heart of the Lake District.

Thorney How was built around 400 years ago, with the traditional Lakeland stone which is so typical of the area. If you’re looking for a real Lake District experience, Thorney How is where you’ll find it. Grade 2 listed, it offers a real slice of the region’s history, with a warm atmosphere you’d expect.

In our main house, you can choose from one of our seven well-equipped en-suite bedrooms. All are centrally heated, and cater for all party sizes with family, twin or double rooms available. Our bedrooms are generously sized Georgian-style rooms, with views of our courtyard or the mountains. We provide bedding and bed linen, and if you’re staying in a double or twin room, we’ll even provide towels as well.

This love of all things local extends to the fantastic breakfast which our B&B guests can expect when they stay with us. We’re really proud of the reviews people have left of the breakfasts on offer and the fact that we cater to so many different tastes. A simple bowl of cereal, toast and marmalade, or a full English breakfast are all on the menu. If you’re staying with us in the main house on a B&B basis, cereal, toast, juice, and tea or coffee are all included in your price, or you can upgrade to a cooked breakfast from just £3 extra.

Not only is Thorney How ideally located for visiting the Lake District, it’s one of the most versatile places to stay in Grasmere, catering for large groups, small families, and even corporate clients. Stay at Thorney How and we can ensure that our Grasmere guest house is set up to allow you to make the most of your stay in the beautiful Lake District.

Thorney How guest accommodation and bunkhouse is privately owned and managed by Taylor and Carolyn Nuttall since 2011.
