Reveil 2020 Audio Stream

Reveil 2020 Audio Stream

by Taylor Nuttall Arts Culture Events COVID-19

Thorney How is now streaming live audio from it’s grounds scheduled to be a part of Reveil 2020. Reveil 2020 is a 24 hour event taking place on the 2nd to 3rd May 2020, but we will be attempting to keep the stream live afterwards for the duration of the COVID-19 lockdown.

The extra quietness afforded by the COVID-19 lockdown and no guests present provides an opportunity to participate in Reveil that otherwise would have privacy complications.

Expect to hear birds, bees, sheep, ducks, hens and other distant garden/farming noises with occasional low flying aircraft.

Reveil is a 24+ hour work following the sunrise around the Earth on International Dawn Chorus Day, using microphones from rooftops, gardens, forests, underwater and electromagnetic sites.

The stream can also be found on the Locus Stream Soundmap by finding Grasmere on the world map and clicking on the microphone icon. http://locusonus.org/soundmap/051/

Please note that the audio stream uses ogg which may not be compatible with iOS Appple devices. Update - we’ve now discovered that you can listen to the live stream using the free VLC media player app. https://apps.apple.com/us/app/vlc-for-mobile/id650377962
