Thorney How
A large historic Lakeland property nestled in the beautiful Easedale Valley a short walk from the centre of Grasmere
Originally a classic farmhouse dating from the 1600’s the property had a “Gentlemen’s Residence” extension added in Georgian times.
In the 1930’s it became one of the founding properties of the YHA and remained so until 2011 when it became an independent youth hostel providing catered or self-catered accommodation to groups.
After a change of ownership and a programme of extensive refurbishment the property now serves the lifestyle retreat market providing groups with exclusive use accommodation for yoga retreats, walking holidays and other group events. These can be catered or uncatered.
